Who needs a coach?

When we think of coaching, most of us tend to think about some of the elite sports coaches around the world. Someone who leads a team of young athletes to a victory. Or an Olympic team coach who gets a group to the podium on the world stage. But when we look at coaching today, we see a group of people who seem to be coaching on business, and sales, and even now coaching on life! So, why is everyone getting coaching for something like how to live?

Well, the reality is that it is very difficult to assess ourselves very clearly from our own vantage point. A coach is someone who is able to see the best in you, even when you are at your worst. And more importantly, how to bring that out of you!

Inversly, a coach is someone who is responsible enough to tell you when you are heading down a very bad path, when you may be at your very best, neglecting the goals you have for yourself. A coach is a lot like a best friend in the sense that they have your best interests at heart, but the difference is, that they don't come with the emotional attachement and are willing to without hesitation give you some news or information you don't fell ready to hear.

So, why get a coach? In today's world of speed and change, it is very easy to get lost in a world where often our friends and co-workers, or even our very own bosses or managers, are not looking out for our interests.

Is your manager trying to help you be the best person you can be? Or drive the most profits for the company out of you to make themselves look good?

A coach is simply for someone who knows that there is more out there in the world for them, but don't know how to start.
